Long
Extra Sauce is an ensemble formed in 2020 in central Italy. The group performs an instrumental repertoire that weaves together Rock, Jazz, and Funk influences, with a particular focus on groove, rhythm, and harmonic interplay. The band's musical language moves between contemporary jazz and sounds that echo soul, R&B, and rock, giving rise to a varied and dynamic sonic palette.
With their debut record Extravaganza (Emme Record Label, 2023), Extra Sauce introduced themselves to the Italian instrumental scene, exploring new expressive possibilities. The band now builds on that foundation with their upcoming release The Untold Story Of (Emme Record Label, 2026), a concept album following a character who lives in a digital world and gradually breaks away from it. Through its instrumental narrative, the album marks a further step in the group's artistic evolution, expanding their sound into more evocative and storytelling-driven territory.
The group's sound takes shape from a rhythm section made up of Alessio Lucaroni on drums, Simone Chiavini on percussion, and Ruggero Bonucci on bass, joined by Santiago Fernandez on keys and Federico Papaianni on guitar. Rounding out the ensemble is the horn trio of Davide Zucchini (trumpet), Emanuele Caporali (tenor sax), and Emanuele Burnelli (baritone sax).
